South Brisbane Exchange

Fibre Network Upgrade


The South Brisbane exchange will be closing to make way for Queensland’s new children’s hospital, and the existing copper network in this area will be replaced with fibre optic cables.

The fibre roll out began in August 2011 and will complete towards the end of 2012. The area is divided up into 17 Tranches and the fibre roll out is staggered, each tranche having a window to migrate all services onto Fibre. 

M2 Telecom customers who are in this area will be contacted shortly to discuss moving to fibre.
